2 Corinthians 10:4

The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.

The last few months of intercessory prayer for Belize and the United States have convinced me that the battles we face are not going to get easier.  Jesus is coming and we have an enemy who is fighting God’s Kingdom with every weapon that he has.  But of one thing I am certain,  JESUS CHRIST IS LORD and the enemy is already defeated.

That being said, I know that the Lord is telling me that we must fight using His weapons and not our own reasonings and understanding.  Nothing less can tear down the strongholds that satan, our enemy has built.  And I believe that they are indeed coming down!

I invite you to join me in whatever way you are able and being led by the Holy Spirit in a sacred season of prayer and fasting, August 29-October 7, 2019.  Seek the Lord about your participation and then obey Him!  I believe the Lord will take me into Belize on a prayer journey sometime during this season and I ask for prayers for that trip to be exactly when He wants it to be.  I feel that He has told me that I need to go into our base at Oasis Ministry to conduct His “spiritual business.”  I don’t understand what all of it means yet and but I sense that it is very urgent.  Please pray for protection for me as I undertake this assignment and also for our missionaries, Ron and Linda, who continue to faithfully “hold the ground” there.

And while you are praying, please pray for the United States where many or most of you live.  Jesus is coming and I’m continually agreeing with many other intercessors for another spiritual awakening in the USA.

Season of Prayer and Fasting

August 29-October 7, 2019

Assignments in prayer:  for the tearing down of strongholds!

I’ll keep you posted!

Blessings, Gina

I have felt an urgency to pray for Oasis Ministry in an intentional way this month. I invite you to join me in a 10-day season of prayer, February 15th-24th. Oasis Ministry, like many of us, has been through some battles this past year. But our God is faithful and I believe He is bringing deliverance and breakthrough!

I will be posting a scripture and prayer prompt on our page “Belize Blessings” everyday from February 15-24th. Please invite others to join us in prayer.

Urgent prayer needed now: February 6th update from Ron

Pray please: my son Melvin’s eye needs immediate surgery today and we have to fly him down the Guatemala City for a specialist to do the needed repair to his eye!! Please pray. We are off to the airport!

Lord, we ask You for miraculous healing for Melvin’s eye. Guide the surgeons as they work on this delicate medical need. Also, Lord as we enter this season of prayer for Oasis Ministry, please call forward more prayer warriors to stand in agreement with us for breakthroughs for Oasis Ministry.

You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. 1 John 4:4

Keeping on…

Colossians 1:4,5
because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all God’s people- the faith and love that spring from the hope stored up for you in heaven and about which you have already heard in the true message of the gospel

be still

As I read this passage in Colossians this week, I wrote this question in my journal: “What keeps us going?” As you see from my emphasis here, I believe that it is the hope of heaven that keeps us going. My prayer this week for our missionaries, Ron and Linda, and for each of us is “Lord, stir up the hope again!”

And here is a good thought from whatchristianswanttoknow.com:

“But the biblical definition of hope is not a hope-so but a know-so. Our hope in God is surer than the sun rising in the morning.”

Lord, let faith and love spring up in each of us today as we lay hold again of the hope we have stored up for us in heaven. Refresh our missionaries, Ron and Linda and thank You for Your provision for Oasis Ministry. Do it again, Lord! Rain down Your abundance upon us so that we can see the fulfillment of Your Great Commission both in Belize and in our realms of influence. Let each person praying this receive a revelation of the hope that is stored up in heaven for those who believe. Revive us in the weary, dry places with that hope! In Jesus’ Name, Amen!

Make this declaration today:
Lord, I will walk in Your hope today in spite of difficulties.

Ongoing prayer requests:
for 2019 teams going into Oasis Ministry
for a fresh anointing over every ministry that Oasis Ministry provides
for continued financial provision
for victory over the enemy in every area…we declare that all oppression is broken off in the MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS!

Please agree together with this prayer from one of our Oasis Ministry prayer warriors:

Father God, greater are You that is in us than he that is in the world. We claim Your mighty, victorious power for Ron, his wife and Oasis. Break every stronghold of the enemy and show Your mighty power in a big way. Bring Your Light into every dark area and free Ron, his wife, and Oasis to be all You desire for them to be. In the powerful name of Jesus we pray, amen.

And to this I say AMEN and add:

Lord, strengthen and encourage Ron and Linda right now and let them see what You see. You have promised that no weapon formed against us will prosper and I claim that for them today. Raise up more prayer warriors to hold up their arms in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Oasis Preschool with books from NDPTF

It has been a long time since I have written a blog post. I pray often for Pastor Ron and Linda and Oasis Ministry in Belize but don’t always find the time to write a post. I hope that you have been praying for them, too.

I have been thinking today about being “sold out” for Jesus and the sake of the gospel. As I do a personal inventory, I wonder how much of me really belongs to Him? Where are the distractions to my faith?

This verse speaks to me:
Romans 14:8 English Standard Version (ESV)
8 For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s.

I’m going to spend some time this week praying about my “sold out” quotient. I look at Ron and Linda and see them often giving when they don’t have money to give. Would you consider praying for them everyday for the next week? Put a reminder in your phone and “amp” up the prayers for them. There have been a lot of challenges to the ministry these last few months and I know that they would be very grateful for the prayer support.

Perhaps more prayer could be a way for all of us to be “sold out” for the purposes of the gospel!

Prayer: Lord, as we lift up Ron and Linda and Oasis Ministry today, please call forward more who would sacrificially pray for them. Bring Your aid to Ron and Linda and Oasis Ministry in Belize. Let this be the most fruitful year ever for them and for each of us as we “sell out” more and more to You and Your purposes! In Jesus’ Name, AMEN.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

This morning I was prompted to focus on this verse. As I looked at some other study aids this commentary inspired me in regards to the word “rejoice”: “the translation (of rejoice) makes it clear that an action or attitude is involved.”

Wow…rejoice isn’t a warm, fluffy feeling! REJOICE is an ACTION!
I learned that in another book that Paul wrote, the book of Philippians, he used the Greek word for joy and rejoicing 16 times in only 104 verses. And it was written while he was in prison! That is definitely taking ACTION!

Are you choosing to REJOICE today? And please take some time now to pray for our friends, Pastor Ron and Linda and their family in Belize!

Prayer: Lord, today help each of us to choose to REJOICE! Touch Pastor Ron and Linda and their family today and help them to REJOICE! Let the love of Christ saturate their home and their ministry. Be exalted in their lives and in ours! And thank You, Lord, for each prayer warrior that stands beside Oasis Ministry in Belize! AMEN

Colossians 3:14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

Many years ago, Stan and I met Pastor Ron and Linda Braaten. Some relationships “fade” over time, but this is a relationship that has continued, Never could we have imagined all that God had in store for all of us and for the Nation of Belize.Next week, January 21-27 is truly a “defining” moment, as saints from all over the USA will descend upon the Oasis Ministry base to build HOUSE #100!

We are so thrilled to be a part of God’s work! It will be wonderful to gather with other saints (some that we have yet to meet) and to provide a unified effort in building this “Centennial” House. God, You are GOOD!

Take a moment and pray with me:

Lord, we thank You for the love You are pouring out in our hearts so that we can give sacrificially for the building of House #100 in Belize. Please continue to bless the ministry of Pastor Ron and Linda Braaten and the Oasis Ministry staff as they bless Belize! Open doors for greater ministry to happen in 2018 in Your Name. As we gather in Belize for this special project, please truly unite our hearts with Your vision and mission and please keep everyone safe! In Jesus’ Name, AMEN!

woman_prayingPsalm 107:28-30 Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed. Then they were glad that the waters were quiet, and he brought them to their desired haven

Many of us say, “There is power in prayer.” But my question to myself and others today is “Do I really believe this?” I’d be the first to admit that sometimes prayer becomes wearying. But in the weary places, I hear the Lord’s command: “Keep fighting the good fight!”

Please don’t give up on prayer because at its very core it is intimate communication with our Lord. I know that the enemy would love to make us think that there is no power in prayer. He would love to have us stop talking with God. Don’t buy into the enemy’s lie that there is no power in prayer. If we remain connected to the POWERFUL God of this universe and He directs us, we have all POWER at our disposal.

Take a moment today and pray with me for Ron and Linda:

Lord, we cry out today for our friends, Ron and Linda. We ask You to bring healing to their physical bodies. We ask You to loose Your power over Oasis Ministry. We ask You to pour in Your balm of healing and comfort in all areas where they are raw and weary. Bless the work of their hands, Lord. Let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done through Oasis Ministry. And we ask for an abundance of financial support so that the purchase of the land can be completed. We also ask you to bless those surrounding Ron and Linda now as their support system. Refresh Andrew, Tiffany, Sondra, Melvin as they hold up Ron and Linda’s arms. We ask in Jesus’ Name. AMEN

…humbly accept the word planted in you,
James 1:21

Today I am meditating on only one portion of James 1:21. The word “accept” really “pops” out for me as I read this scripture. Several meanings for the Greek word translated here as “accept” are “I take” and “I welcome.” I believe that all of us need to ask the Holy Spirit to really teach us how to take or welcome His Word into our hearts. Reading the Word and checking that off our list each day is not enough. The Word is meant to go deep and to change us. I know that our missionaries Ron and Linda and their staff in Belize are very busy with ministry. On our recent visit, I became more aware than ever of how hard they work for the sake of the gospel. Let’s pray for them and for all of us that wehave “carved” out quiet times to be in the Word of God and that as we do that we will “take” and “welcome” the word into our hearts.

Prayer: Lord, show us how to truly “take” and “welcome” Your Word into our hearts. May You find good and fertile soil there to plant Your Word. And may we bear much fruit for Your Kingdom. Please bless our missionaries, Ron and Linda, and their staff with rich times in Your presence. Protect them and their family and all that concerns them. For Your glory, Lord! We pray in Your Name, Jesus! AMEN

Psalms 29:2 Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; worship the LORD in the splendor of holiness.

I am currently in a “when it rains, it pours season” of life.  But I know that when the rains end, the flowers come. I am looking forward to that next season with the Lord.  But while I am in this challenging season, I am choosing to be a worshipper and not a whiner. Much of this is inspired by the book “Choosing Gratitude” by Nancy Leigh DeMoss, that I am currently studying with a lovely group of ladies in Laramie, Wyoming, where I live.  I hope that you are choosing worship today in the midst of your circumstances.  Remember that worship is a choice that we must make daily.  And as you pray, please lift up our missionaries, Ron and Linda and their Belizean family.  They face challenges everyday as they fulfill the calling upon their lives.  Please pray that their lives would also be filled with worship.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, You have done so much for us and how can we ever say a big enough “Thank You?”  You were despised on our behalf and You never complained about us to the Father, but You accepted Your mission humbly.  What an example You have presented for each of us.  Help us today to be worshippers and not whiners!

This song is really helping me to worship today!
